Chapter 41 - The rush

I took Halo to the bathroom and told Hacker to create a gate so we can discuss what's happening in person, in no time we were standing in our "control center" rather, Hacker's room . It seems that Testament caused the tsunami that wrecked the Hawaiian Islands and is now on route to the pacific coast...

[The three are gathered around a mired of screens all displaying relevant information]

Hacker: I can't believe after all this time he's finally come back...
Edge: That's Testament?
Hacker: Yeah, in the flesh
Halo: He's different though, he looks a lot more stronger...
Edge: You mean he was weaker back then?
Halo: When he first came out he looked weaker then he is now
Hacker: Look talking about how strong he is right now isn't going to help the fact he's up and walking now
Edge: You think he's gonna destroy wherever he lands?
Hacker: He might, I dunno... either way this isn't good...
Edge: Tell me about it
Hacker: No, it's much worse then you think
Halo: Why? What happened...
Hacker: Recently I been keeping up with the media, and its not good
Edge: When is it ever good...
Hacker: Recently there has been a media frenzy on the "disasters" that have occurred, the military are trying to cover it up but more then a few hundred have caught on tape the Sky Flood incident, the battle between you and Judgment at the beach, and even Judgment blowing up the spire on the Empire State, and not to mention that fight in Egypt, they had clear views of you being "people"
Edge: Whoa, I'm on film?
Halo: Nooooo they got me too, watch me get sent to jail cuz I'm brown
Hacker: As racially funny as that is now isn't the time, the public have posted these videos on the net and I'm doing all I can to keep them off, the government is also trying to keep this on the down low
Edge: So what's the problem then? Everything seems to be under control
Hacker: Trust me its not, I'm able to keep some of them off, but once the information has been circulated it'll be around permanently, and more then 50% of the world probably has a file saved on their computers and a possible hard copy of it as well, I've done all I can to infect peoples computers and delete the file, but for those that have the copies, they are being sent into the wrong hands
Halo: Like who?
Hacker: The churches...
Edge: Oh no...
Halo: The churches? What do they have to do with this?
Edge: Everything...
Hacker: Exactly, more then 50% of this world, and I'm willing to bet about 80-90% of the whole world believes in some form of religion, the strongest ones are Islam, Christianity, Catholicism, and Judaism
Halo: And...
Edge: And that means with all those zealots out there they're more then likely thinking it's either the end of the world or sum sort of Armageddon crisis
Hacker: Exactly, there's been rioting in certain places where the churches have demanded an answer to all that has happened, and want to take actions into their own hands
Halo: So... this is bad?
Edge: Yes you dingus this is bad, this is exactly what I have been talking about, humanity will never accept us...
Hacker: It gets worse, if something happens with Testament where ever he lands then the public will know for sure, there's already people ready to risk their lives to expose the truth, just take a look

[Hacker brings up screen of California's coast line, there are people standing on top of their homes with a camera in hand as if waiting for something to happen]

Hacker: They already know of Testaments approach
Edge: Damn this is not good at all, I think its best to wait and see what happens, is there a way to keep them from filming it?
Hacker: No, I don't think so...
Edge: How fast can you get us there?
Hacker: I can't get you there at all its too far, I can get you up to Texas
Halo: How about somewhere with more clouds? I can get us the rest of the way there
Hacker: Us? More like you can Edge, I can't go, I don't got the power like you guys have, plus I need to monitor the situation
Edge: Chicken...
Hacker: You'd be too if you had to go up against that thing
Edge: I DO have to go up against him, look whatever just open a gate
Hacker: Alright

[Hacker opens the gate and the two steps through, they reappear in a corn field]

Edge: Hey Toto, I think we're in Kansas
Halo: Oh do the corns give that away, the almighty corns of Halo?
Edge: You're an ass, quick, your turn now
Halo: Yes siree bob

[Halo grabs Edge's shoulder and extends his right arm into the air, a lighting bolt strikes them and they both disappear]

Now its time to rush, get there as quickly as possible and assess the situation, if all he does is land and leave everyone alone then maybe no one will overreact, but knowing him that's not going to happen, we just need to get there ASAP.
