Chapter 36 - Hey I remember you, reunion of friends

I waited all day and all night... they never showed up... so I put on my black hoody and left... My father had 3 cars in the garage so I took the keys and took the Ford truck, I drove it across the Manhattan Bridge and up towards Central Park, I seem to love that spot don't I...

[Edge is driving the truck on the east side there's no traffic but he's driving at a slow 25mph...]

I heard a lady screaming so I pulled the truck over to see what it was and to my surprised it looked like some sort of monster, almost... like a werewolf, but was that for real do they actually exist? I ran towards her but before I could do anything a bolt of lighting came crashing from the sky striking the monster, it stopped him dead in his tracks and the lady ran off screaming "el diablo" apparently she thought it was the devil or something...

[As Edge watches the lady running away in terror the monster gets up and roars at Edge]

I must have forgotten about that monster cause the next thing I knew I was that things target but before it got to me another bolt of lightning struck it but this time it managed to dodge. Then the most unexpected thing happened...

[A gate opens up and a fist slams into the monsters face, then from the sky another lighting bolt comes crashing down but right before it hits the monster Halo materializes and spear kicks the monster, Edge stands back with his hoody on covering his face in the darkness]

That's... that's Perry when did he get those powers?! I stood back and watched those two take on the monster and defeat it...

[Halo turns towards Edge with out knowing who he is]

Halo: Are you ok?
Guy in Hoody: (in a deep voice that sounds obviously fake) uh yeah... how did you two do that?
Halo: It's a secret
Hacker: Yeah, we're super heroes
Guy in Hoody: Really? That's cool yo
Halo: "Yo"? You said yo
Guy in Hoody: Yeah is sumtin wrong with that?
Halo: No, just sounds like sumtin someone I knew would say
Hacker: Don't tell anyone about what you saw ok, it's a secret
Guy in Hoody: A secret? How come???
Halo: Cuz if the world knew about us they would get scared and try to hunt us down, they already suspect something is wrong
Guy in Hoody: Who does?
Halo: The government AND the churches
Hacker: Especially the churches, they are on the verge of a religious upheaval
Guy in Hoody: Why?
Hacker: Look don't worry, it really doesn't concern you
Guy in Hoody: I see, I was just curious is all
Halo: Well stay safe we're gonna go now

[Halo and hacker turn around but before they go Edge stops fooling around and talks in his normal voice]

Edge: I'm glad you guys are doing ok...

[Halo and Hacker stop dead in their tracks and slowly turn around]

Halo: Is... That...
Hacker: Edge...

[Edge pulls back his hoody to reveal his face]

Edge: Who were you expecting... the tooth fairy?
Halo: EDGE!!!

[Halo jumps at Edge the same way Saivent did and hugs him out of joy, Hacker walks up to Edge and give him a hug as well]

Edge: Heh, I'm glad you guys remember me, I missed you guys too

[Halo is crying and Hacker sheds a tear of happiness]

Edge: Alright, alright, you guys missed me that much?
Hacker: We thought you were dead man
Edge: I was...
Halo: Then how... how did you come back to life?
Edge: Oh man what a story that's gonna be... I'll tell you all once we get home
Halo: To whose house?
Edge: Good point... I don't have much of a home to go to
Halo: Mines isn't to good either
Hacker: Guess mines it is then, the water didn't reach too high up past central park
Edge: Alright let's go...

He opened a gate and we all stepped through, it was nice to be reunited with my friends again...

CONCLUSION - Well there you go the official conclusion of the 2nd DFFX contest, the entries were great but as always there were some that outshined the rest ideas are now opened for NEW CONTEST THEMES!!!
