Chapter 31 - The first snow of the year

My clothes were messed up after that fight with Akuma... so what else would anyone do? I went home to get a change, the majority of all my clothes were wet and moldy there was one set that seemed to be untouched. It was a pair of black cargo pants, a white t-shirt and a black button up jean shirt. I put it on and walked out, there wasn't anyone around and I wanted to take a look around, but guess what? Now my wings wouldn't open, my abilities are so frustrating as of late, I blame it on that stupid baptism... I wanted to go to Central Park but it seemed I'd have to walk there if that's the destination I wanted. It was gonna be a very long walk...

[Edge starts to walk but for no reason starts to jog... then starts to run and he continues running for hours...]

All I know is that it was day when I landed... but the sun started to set now... the city seemed so dead, the lights didn't come on and it was like some horror movie. I remember the lights use to light up even the night sky in an orange tint, now all that lights up the sky is the moon, and its being blocked by clouds. The temperature started to cool down, and quite rapidly too, for once in a long while I felt cold. I stopped running somewhere at 34th street and started to walk, I was hungry too so I looked around for some food, all I found were bags of chips that didn't seem to be opened...

[Edge sits down on the side walk with some junk food and begins to chow down, he finishes in no time and stands up. He looks around in the darkness to get his bearings, he soon finds north and crosses his arms to keep warm and begins to walk]

I walked for a while, then it started to snow just small flurries but it was enough to put me off, I was near Bryant Park and I knew the perfect place to spend the night...

[Edge heads towards the New York public library and forces down its doors, like many other places it's abandoned. He starts a fire and gets comfortable next to it and starts to sleep... outside a snow storm starts to rage, in the New Jersey area Halo is with is family staying at his aunts and cousins house...]

It's been 2 weeks now after that storm from Testament. One week after we got electricity back, but what was the point the government came in and took everyone out. We were told we had to leave here at once, and those that didn't leave went into hiding, it looked like a war zone almost. So me and my family came here to New Jersey and this is where I've been since, Hacker escaped with his family up to Maine and I haven't heard from him since...

[Halo opens the front door of the house and stands there looking out at the surrounding environment]

It's the first snow of the year...

[His aunt comes up from behind him...]

Aunt: Perry what are you doing?
Perry: I'm just looking at the sky, it's the first snow of the year
Aunt: Oh is that all?
Perry: Yeah...

[Before he gets to do anything else his aunt smacks him upside the head]

Aunt: THEN SHUT THE DOOR YOU'RE LETTING ALL THE COLD AIR IN!!!
Perry: (patting the back of his head) ah ok damn it that hurt

[The night was ending and the sun started to rise, through a window in the New York public library a sun ray breaks through and hits Edge in the face and wakes him up]

I guess its morning already isn't it...

[Edge stretches out and yawns loudly]

The fire stayed alive all night hahhaha its still there for me when I need it... I got up and pushed open the door, the world was covered in a blanket of snow. Unlike the day before I didn't feel as cold this time even though the wind chill was probably down to about 15 degrees or so. So I started my walk again, this time it was a lot harder because there was about 2 feet of snow everywhere...
I walked for about an hour and the sky darkened once more to snow. First it was flurries then it became flakes, and from there it was just full snow fall again, but not a blizzard. It wasn't long till I made it to Central Park I was standing under the globe in Columbus Circle and I looked up to it with some form of nostalgia... I remembered all those memories... memories that seemed so long ago... covered in the first snow of the year...

sorry i havent updated, thigns have been busy... also lack of much of an artistic feel, ive been doign alot morehands on metal workign stuff lately though. saldy nothign to show on DA other then my hat lol i hope you guys still liek the story, and yes it still wil be published
